Four clubs. Thirty-eight volunteers. Ten little libraries.
The numbers alone can't begin to tell the story of the excitement, the connections, and the impact of our East San Diego County clubs coming together for the 2026 Rotary International Epic Day of Service! So here are a few photos.

Members of the Rotary Clubs of Santee-Lakeside, El Cajon, La Mesa Noon, and La Mesa Sunrise joined together to plan and implement this project to paint and assemble little libraries to be placed at schools and parks in our communities.

A very special thanks to our club member, Ron Rice of Ron Rice Painting, for lending his considerable expertise and hands-on help, and to Lynn Parsons, amazing Fresh Start Saturday champion, for securing our space at the La Mesa First United Methodist Church.

Thank you to Sandy Pugliese of the Rotary Club of Santee-Lakeside and others who captured these special moments. We also thank Sandy for the wonderful article in NewBits.
This collaborative project truly embodied the spirit of service and meaningful connection, and relationships were started and strengthened. We look forward to more opportunities to "build goodwill and better friendships!"
