Several of our members and spouses drove out to the Feeding San Diego warehouse near Sorrento Valley. We learned a lot about how many of our fellow citizens are in need of fresh produce and protein to feed their families! Mostly, this organization is funded by donations, not the government. We loaded bags with oranges, weighed them, then tied the tops and filled boxes to be loaded on pallets and taken by forklift into the warehouse. Some of us toured the rest of the facility before we went out for lunch.
