The December holidays and the gifts children hope to receive were a very tall order indeed for the students who attend the Learn4Life Charter Schools. These students working jobs, attending classes and often living in poverty had precious few resources to buy their own young children gifts. Four of our club's members work and teach at these schools, so they understand the needs of their students. A proposal was brought to our Projects Committee by member Ivy Blumberg, asking for our Club Foundation to contribute $1,000 toward the purchase of toys, clothing, blankets etc. for the youngsters. This money was augmented by individuals wanting to help. Together we wrapped hundreds of packages, and the school staff organized a drive-through gift distribution. What a great way to help make this COVID19 year a bit brighter for these young families!
