Members of La Mesa Sunrise Rotary Club join with Crawford High School students to organize "Colts Thrift"

Several members of the Crawford High School Student Thrift Store joined up with La Mesa Sunrise Rotary members to reorganize the clothes on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026. The two locations on the Crawford HS campus needed an extreme makeover after clutter had become a little difficult to work with. Thank you so much to Elena, Lisa, Laurel, Camille, Norm, Ivy, Paul, and Ivan for helping out on a warm day.

The Colts Thrift store was a project started as a partnership between the LMSR club and Crawford High School, advised by Elena Lujan-Alba. The mural was designed by Lily Alba years ago, and students have staffed it with the intention of selling donated clothes to students throughout the year. Students learn to run a business and manage each other in a way that serves their community.
