March was a busy month with Club members participating in a service project and a fundraising event, and hosting a Model United Nations Team from Costa Rica!
The month began at Groundwork San Diego's EarthLab at Millennial Tech Middle School in Southeast San Diego where Club members worked to improve the native plant garden.

Midmonth, Ivy hosted a well-attended and financially successful "Crafts and Drafts" fundraiser featuring a spring craft activity and a learning and tasting session with unusual beers led by Ivan.

We were honored to have representatives attend from the two wonderful organizations that benefitted from this fundraiser: Kathryn Ely from Quench and Connect and Lynn and Jim Parsons from Fresh Start Saturday. A big thank you to these inspirational people who do so much to help so many!

Near the end of the month, the Club hosted and supported a team of four Costa Rican high school students who journeyed to San Diego to participate in the Rotary District 5340 Model United Nations Conference. The students and their families joined our morning Club meeting and attended an evening celebration hosted by Manuela and Hugo. These young people embody the Rotary spirit of optimism and belief in working together to solve the world's problems and we were honored to meet them.
