The Jewish Family Services Safe Parking Program provides seven locations to offer people a pathway out of homelessness and a return to stable housing. Club members gathered on August 30, 2025 to assemble more than 30 bags of hygiene and comfort items to give to those in the Safe Parking Program.

The project is part of an ongoing effort called "Fern's Bags" to honor and remember beloved Club member Fern Platt-Hall. Fern cared deeply for individuals and families facing housing insecurity and homelessness, and believed in the power of even small caring gestures of support.

Club members were joined by a Rotary Global Scholar from Japan who is pursing a graduate degree at San Diego State University. We welcome her to San Diego and look forward to including her in future Club activities!
